Black always was a beautiful color and if integrated well it can make a great design. Pixel is another one of the themes from Wordpress.org that are currently featured and are receiving some attention from the wordpress community. It’s special thing is the transparency of the background content that’s perfectly integrated with the content and the background image that just blends colors in like they where born there. Visual hierarchy is good and the rest of the elements that make the theme a good theme are set in place doing their job very well. Sidebar, menu, top menu header and footer elements are very well integrated to be basic but have a little bit of a sparkle at the same time.
Don’t want to say that this is a marvelous theme. It’s good! but it’s still looking like a free theme (nothing premium about it, especially the admin panel, as you will see later in the post) +Continue Reading
Ever wanted a really cool wordpress theme that’s free, looks nice and it’s easy to use? Try Mistique, a free wordpress theme available on wordpress.org made by digitalnature. It has a lot of cool animations on the RSS feed sliding menus, a cool sidebar that slides with categories, tags, archives, popular posts and recent comments with cool icons at the top that you can click to slide between them. It also has a personalized title for the twitter account making it even nicer and more unique. Threaded comments and a very well organized and constructed admin panel with 6 tabs used to modify sidebar location, number of sidebars and their location(max 2), backgrounds, fonts, logo(and many, many more).

Better means faster, simpler, more effective…
The previous theme was not exactly 100% wordpress and performance OK.
- Threaded comments where not very well written in terms of design (when more than 3-5 comments existed)
- The visual elements, slideshows and all the pictures that needed loading took a lot of pageload (on each new page refresh)
- Theme took a lot of space and needed a lot of scrolling down
- certain parts of posts where inefficient to appchain (like more about author section at the end of each post)
- Certain parts of the theme (sidebar , header) where not editable in terms of simple design, value changing
Anyway, this is a free theme from wordpress.org that makes things more simple and more visual, more beautifull at the same time. I’ve installed and enabled wp super cache (had only wp cache before and i think it was disabled for some reason for about 1 month) and everything seems to be working much more faster right now. (at least x3 times faster).
So welcome to a more faster and simple’r AppChain
The new version brings to the plugin a list of options. Actually all the options that fancybox has to offer(padding,
imageScale , zoomOpacity , zoomSpeedIn , zoomSpeedOut , zoomSpeedChange , easingIn , easingOut , easingChange frameWidth , frameHeight , overlayShow , overlayOpacity , hideOnContentClick , centerOnScroll , itemArray , callbackOnStart , callbackOnShow , callbackOnClose ).
All of these have a function in the admin panel page under settings named Advanced Fancybox. You can see an example of the page in the Screenshots section of the plugin in wordpress.org

All our widgets(Mood Personalizer, Give a Beer, Live Countdown Timer, Advanced Twitter Widget) had a small design bug that we fixed. They are all fully compatible with any design as of this new version.
We know how much people would hate having to update plugins frequently so we are very careful on what we update when we update a plugin.
This mass update was necessary.
