With no tables, table-less CSS and xHtml coding, without any ie.css external file, this tutorial is how to make a perfect alignment between div tags and how you can build a perfect cross-browser design using only divs and one single css file with organized css code that uses a simple (personal) technique, you can create 1 single css file that will work with all browsers.
The secret is three lines of CSS code: +Continue Reading
Yet another one of the “Simple but beautiful” category that’s screaming for attention. Actually it’s not screaming and has pretty much all the attention it can handle. Fusion Wordpress theme is one of the good (free) ones. You can’t really say much from the picture above but you might say “nice” when you view a live demo. This particular theme has nothing special (maybe the unique design) apart from the other themes (free or premium), but has some stuff that you already seen on other blogs plus it’s very well written for a wordpress theme (with all the wordpress css standards and compatibilities in order) that make it a good theme to pick if you are looking for something like this. +Continue Reading
Pretty, simple and a wordpress theme . OneRoom is one of the few free wordpress themes out there that have the design of a premium theme but the price of a free one. As you can see in the picture above (that has a bigger version if you click it) everything just seems to fall right into place. The content looks great, menus blend in perfectly and the sidebar is not to simple but not complex either. One of the nice things that makes this theme special is the left part that was integrated for a specific purpose and the design is just perfectly merged with the colors and the content. +Continue Reading

If you’re a wordpress plugin or theme developer and you got a plugin/theme at wordpress.org, you probably received an email recently with “[wp-dev-news] WordPress Developer News: WordPress 2.9 Beta 2 released” subject. Yep! everybody got them and the messages says what it says: wordpress 2.9 beta is out and ready for testing. There is a blog post on the wordpress blog that says a very low version of the same thing. What you see in the picture above is actually Wordpress 2.9 Beta (a fresh install), and I know it looks exactly the same, nothing much has changed in the interface part of the admin panel (even though there are some changes here too).
Now, what was in that email? +Continue Reading
#1 Modern-Blue:
A light blue theme with rounded corners, ajax, and gravatar and widget support.Has two columns and fixed with and available colors shown on the theme are blue, pink, green and white. Overall, it’s a light theme with no main background, simple and easy to use. Download Theme / Author Home Page

#2 VeryPlainTXT:
A fluid two-column layout—the original “plain text” theme. Think McSweeny’s. For WordPress 2.6.x. Made only out of black and white, is like the title says: very plain and simple. IF you’re looking for simplicity this is the best +Continue Reading
IF you’re ever looking for a new wordpress theme for your blog, a magazine-style theme might be a good choice. Arras Theme is such a theme. I’ts a nice theme, FREE available on wordpress.org or it’s own dedicated page on arrastheme.com with a lot of features and is pretty flexible in the admin panel allowing you to do a lot of stuff like changing from 1 to 2 sidebars and change their position from left to right both or each at one part. More information and video after the break.
Before you even start looking at these, I must warn you, they are the basics of the free and the simple of the community. They are all from Worpdress.org and they all work on the latest version of wordpress. So if you’re looking for something simple with a one page admin panel and just a few options these options could be for you.
The designs are not very good, they are just OK and the visual hierarchy is not very well made on all of them. But still they are good themes, (remember they are free) and can be used with no problem on any blog. You’re looking at a theme so complex, with so many options, that it’s going to take me over a hour to show them all to you. I’m not going to do that as this is not a tutorial, it’s a review. The theme is looking very simple with all the basic stuff for a wordpress theme(available at wordpress.org). It supports threading comments but still, why is it so complicated? Let’s start with the name: Atahualpa. (weird name?). It’s not weird.. it’s special.. just go into the admin panel and see for yourself. Video after the break. +Continue Reading
ThemeForest is one of the best online markets out there (the best if you ask me). But what makes it the best? The fact that each day around 30 themes are sent for reviewing and each day(especially the weekend) 1-2 reviewers see all the designs and reject more than 90% of them. Actually even more than 90% (even 100%) as most of the themes are not “good enough” for the envato team.
These people are looking only for the best themes out there and that is a big plus for the customers as they know they will buy quality. All good so far, but you may want to ask at this point: what are the prices like? Cheaper than you ever find. I’m talking 45$ a very high price! Usually themes are from 25$ to 35$. +Continue Reading
