On Windows:

The first video tutorial is from wordpress.tv and it’s for how to install Wordpress locally on Windows and WAMPP Server:

The second tutorial is from youtube and it’s for Windows and XAMPP Server:

On a Mac:

Wampp has no version for mac so the only tutorial I’ve found available for the mac is using the MAMPP SERVER:

It does not matter that much what application server you use, either that it’s xampp, wampp, lampp or mampp they all have the same purpose: Installing your apache and mysql servers (all you need to have to install wordpress locally)

Hi i have a question, Could this work if you have more than one site. I’m a newbie designer and i have a few websites all with different domain names and different hosts. I find updating online is soo slow and a pain in the ass. This would be perfect if i could use it for all my clients.

      Hi,
Yes, it can, as it’s a server. And a server can host multiple sites and yes with multiple domains and sub-domains.. but you need to know how to configure that.
